WHAT DEFINES MY ART?
Since I was young, I have always been interested in architecture and fascinated with modern art. As a result, my style is simplistic, organic, geometric, and sometimes abstract. While I do like impressionist art and more ornate art styles, I always resort back to modern style because of its ambiguity, sharpness, and minimalist approach.
WHERE DO I START?
Whenever I start a project, I get a preconceived idea and go with it. Sometimes, I'll go research if I'm unsure how something should look. Otherwise, I go straight to sketching. I'll be doing something else and then I'll get a jolt of inspiration and go for my sketchbook or the nearest paper and pencil. Materials at the time can be a challenge for me, as I am always trying to experiment with new mediums. My favorites are pencil and marker.
WHAT ABOUT TODAY?
My work today has evolved so much over the past few years, however it has each work contains a unique charm. Some of my inspiration today comes from Frank Gehry. I believe that if there were two events that changed my art, they would be the Summer Architecture Program I attended in 2014, and my trip to Japan in April of 2015.
