Architecture Discovery Program
As someone who always wanted to become an architect, I wanted to learn about the process of designing buildings. In July 2014, I participated in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Summer Architecture Discovery Program. In this program, I experimented with creating physical structures through the medium of laser-cut cardboard individually followed by orthographic depictions of our structures. Then moved onto the concept of conglomeration and the idea of combining different structures. Then in groups, we designed an addition to the RPI Architecture building based off our models in Rhinoceros. Our building was then rendered and we created cross-sections of our addition. At the end of the program, we invited accredited architects and professors to critique our work we had produced over the course of the two weeks.
